During my postgraduate studies at Temple University School of Dentistry in Philadelphia, USA, I was involved in the research work "Validity of the prediction of dentoskeletal and soft tissue profile changes after mandibular set-back and maxillary impaction osteotomies using a computerized cephalometric system" , the completion of which led to the acquisition of the Master of Science in Dentistry degree in August 1995.

During the elaboration of my doctoral dissertation (PhD), I was engaged in the research work: Contribution to the study of the dental, dental and maxillofacial character of the class II / 1 according to Angle in Greek children aged 10-12 years. This work was carried out in the Department of Orthodontic, School of Dentistry, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.

During the writing of my Research Monograph (ISBN: 978-960-93-7325-8) entitled "Rapid Palatal Expansion. Changes in the dimensions of the dental arches after orthodontic treatment with rapid palatal expansion and fixed orthodontic appliances" I conducted a long-term study to evaluate the short-term therapeutic effects of rapid palatal expansion.

In addition to research for the Master of Science in Dentistry, Doctoral Dissertation, Research monograph and participation in 4 research programs of the Orthodontic Laboratory, my research work includes studies related to lateral cephalometric radiography, the characteristics of dental arches with the use of study templates, the epidemiology of occlusal problems, cephalometric radiographic methods for predicting therapeutic effect in orthognathic surgery, nickel hypersensitivity in orthodontic patients and aesthetics in patients with cleft lip and palate.
